Some would think would be a limit to the madness I exude. Only two days ago, I received my first burst of frenzied thought which closely followed the starting winter maladies. Today, a sudden onset of deranged laughter occurred in my Chinese class. Though, friends in the class would argue the laughter was for good reason – we converse in a multitude of languages to compensate for the fact that we cannot speak languages, other than English, in full. That, and it’s hilarious.
A normal conversation would look like:
Friend: 你好吗?
me: だいじょうぶ
F: Very good
me: Oui, très bien
F: Oui oui, baguette
me: 바보
F: ???
me: ばかです
F: なんで… 不对
This kind of conversation doesn’t go without slightly baffled, or I-just-want-to-sink-in-my-seat-type, onlookers, but it does make learning Chinese that much more fun to learn.
The “deranged laughter” I mentioned even had my two friends concerned. Some people on the table were confused about my endless laughter and others were concerned. One of my friends responded to my lunacy with “回家” (go home), “you’re too sick to be at uni”, only resulting in more laughter and denial that I was fine.
I got out of bed; I was just under half an hour early for my first class; I was perfectly fine.
Says the lunatic spreading the crazy.
