Tomorrow I will find myself busy for the first time in a long time. I will be out and about and do crazy things all within reason, of course. Just thinking about the day gets me excited!
I will endure pain to make myself a little prettier and go out with an old friend. We may eat too much for lunch and I will suffer a little more, but the company is worth it (and they will probably finish my food for me haha ~).
I will travel across different roads, through a tunnel and over a marvelous bridge with an amazing view, and find myself in a city of busy people. They will walk with purpose – to their jobs, to lunch or to places they must be, but I will be walking aimlessly.
The time gifted to me will be spent enjoying every second without a place to be, just for a little while. Oh, the joys of rest, of un-busyness! It is a rare thing for me.
And in the afternoon I will hear the Word of God, sharing time with family I love and people I seldom see. It’s a place of rest and encouragement I realise I delight in. Normally, I would spend a little time at an evening picnic on synthetic grass in conversation with them.
But this time I will see another friend in a new place. We will visit Mexico in Sydney and share words over childhood candy-themed margaritas.
Tomorrow will be a joy, for it is God given. It will be a little chaotic, and filled with strange experiences, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Yours truly, Jaimee.
