To the one who pushes me forward

To the one who pushes me forward,

I always enjoy it when you message me. Why? Well, because I know you’re inviting me out somewhere and you know I love making plans – even more so when they’re spontaneous. There is something about last-minute plans that just seem so genuine and fun. Perhaps this particular outing is less fun, seeing as how you want to go for breakfast and how it means having to wake up at 6am (and midnight fast approaches). But, I do like spending time with you.

Although, every time we do meet, we can’t ever seem to make time to paint because we are so pre-occupied with good food and stellar conversation. You’re inviting me out a lot more now that you have practically graduated and I’m a little worried because I’ve been eating so much lately! I suppose it’s okay though, since I did lose a lot of weight towards the end of last year.

I appreciate the conversations we have about work, life and faith – and I appreciate being able to do life with you even more. It has been an incredible few years knowing you: first as the busy one whom I could never catch, then as my president, and now… as someone I hold very dearly. Can I tell you a secret? You are the reason I decided to become secretary in the first place. I am glad to have served you, and served alongside you.

You continue to be this incredible source of encouragement who perseveres even when it’s hard to. I know that you’d argue you barely got by sometimes, but the important thing is that you did keep going. I remember the times you studied in building six – the times that you performed your presidential duties and all of the stress emanating from your face. That’s the president I follow. So very hardworking and earnest. Thank you for letting me be a part of your life, and thank you for being a part of mine.

I thank my God every time I remember you.

I am excited to see what this year brings you and I’ll be right there when you need me.

See you soon,

Your sister in Christ.
