The rain comes and goes in droves of cats and dogs, ushering in longer days as the seasons change. Today is the day when perfect balance between light and dark is achieved. And each hemisphere sees the sun equally. On this day, what is it that you hope to achieve?
Still, the internal battle continues as I wrestle with myself to find any remaining desire—compassion and love that I have left in this empty cup. But is it not a mistake to look within for renewal when our vessels long for an everlasting source of fulfilment and sustenance? With spring comes new life, but even then, that life soon disappears in the fall. There is nothing new under the sun.
It’s just another day to battle the resentment and contempt. Another day to figure out why I’m so angry and tired all the time. The southern hemisphere’s spring equinox has passed, and the days will keep getting longer from here. But I remind myself, let’s get through one day at a time.
